The brief was to design a house for a man. I started by researching historical references— focusing on themes of lightness, transparency, and connection with nature. I also explored traditional Islamic mashrabiya screens as inspiration for filtered, patterned lighting.
For the site, we chose a plot near the Parco delle Sculture di Brufa (a sculpture park in Torgiano, Umbria), valuing its continuity with the surrounding houses and its open view onto the landscape.
The design itself is a compact two-level unit: a ground floor with kitchen, dining, and lounge area, and an upper floor with bedroom and bathroom,
